CHILD RECOVERY AGENCY

Group 7

Group 7 is the Child Recovery Agency's Anti-Child Trafficking Special Operations Group, also known as ACT-SOG. It is made up of carefully selected CRA personnel who have completed extensive vetting, assessment and operational training. Many bring more than a decade of experience from their respective professional fields.

Agent and Operative

Within CRA, the terms Agent and Operative describe two distinct functions.

A CRA Agent is an authorised member of the organisation who may support intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, liaison, operational planning or other approved activities.

A CRA Agent is classified as an Operative when deployed into an undercover operational environment. The title applies to the function being performed during that deployment, where the individual must operate within an authorised role, maintain operational security and work under the applicable command structure.

This means that an individual may serve generally as a CRA Agent, but when deployed undercover, they are functioning as a CRA Operative.

Group 7 and Tier 1 Classification

Not every CRA Agent is a member of Group 7. Group 7 is reserved for personnel selected and trained for specialised operational duties within ACT-SOG.

Any Operative serving within Group 7 is classified as a Tier 1 Operator. This classification reflects the advanced level of vetting, training, discipline, operational capability and responsibility required for deployment in medium to high risk undercover environments.

Tier 1 classification is not based on title alone. It is earned through demonstrated competence, sound judgement, operational reliability and the ability to perform under pressure while remaining within the mission, legal authority and command structure.

The 1% Club

Applicants must first pass a demanding vetting and assessment process before being accepted into the Group 7 training pathway. Those who pass undertake extensive foundational operational training before progressing to advanced training tailored to their intended role and area of expertise.

The standards are deliberately high. The realities of selection, training and deployment mean that very few applicants successfully complete the entire process. Those who do become part of what we refer to as the 1% Club.
